Johnny Cage uses a drone to scout the Dragon Army, much to Mileena’s surprise, while Scorpion comes up with a plan to divide their forces. Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and Raiden will work to close the portals and prevent the Army’s invasion. Kenshi and Jerrod will focus on decimating as many of the Army’s forces as possible, while the rest will take on their dark doubles to sow chaos and confusion within the enemy ranks.
The plan kicks into action as Kenshi and Jerrod trigger a landslide, raining down attacks on the Dragon Army from a high vantage point. Meanwhile, the sorcerers and Raiden attempt to close the portals, but they’re stopped by Dark Kenshi and Dark Ermac. In response to being betrayed, the Deadly Alliance channels their fury to take down Titan Shang Tsung’s minions, eventually destroying the portal.
However, the Deadly Alliance soon finds themselves trapped and ambushed by Dark Rain and Dark Smoke. They’re saved by Raiden, and together, they manage to defeat their dark counterparts, including a final confrontation with Dark Shao. Realizing that Dark Shao’s life force is fueling the portal, the Deadly Alliance attempts to end him, but they’re interrupted by Dark Scorpion and Dark Sub-Zero.
This time, the Deadly Alliance successfully saves Raiden from Dark Shao, then battles Dark Shao and Dark Reiko, ultimately killing both and closing the portals for good. Despite the portal being shut down, the remaining Dragon Army soldiers continue to fight relentlessly. In the end, the Deadly Alliance and Raiden join forces with their allies to defeat the last of the Army.
